Artist's Description

This green man, a symbol of renewal and rebirth, looks out from a frieze on the Jefferson County Courthouse in Port Townsend, Washington. While many consider the Green Man to be a pagan symbol, he has existed on the walls and spires of traditional Christian structures since the middle ages, as well as secular structures.
