Description
The Kansas City skyline includes these four stainless steel and aluminum sculptures by R.M. Fischer. Mounted high atop the cable-supporting pylons on Bartle Hall, the four sculptures, crafted by Zahner Metals of Kansas City, were hoisted to the top of the pylons by way of a large helicopter. The southern edge of the roof of Bartle Hall is just visible at the bottom, behind the trees. The sculptures are part of the city's continuing "One Percent for Art" program. One percent of the cost of public construction projects is set aside for art installations.
This view of the pylons and Sky Stations is no longer possible, as the image was captured before the construction of The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. This image was taken from about where the parking garage no stands. Original capture was with a Fuji S2 Pro modified for infrared.
